Abstract

This research aims to find out whether work engagement has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction among employees at the Purworejo Regency Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM). The data source uses a questionnaire. The population in this study were employees of the Purworejo Regency Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM). The sampling technique used was saturated sampling and purposive sampling. The sample used was 50 people. The data analysis techniques used are simple correlation coefficient analysis, simple linear regression analysis, coefficient of determination, and t test. Based on the results and discussion in the previous chapter, it can be concluded that: the results of a simple correlation coefficient analysis show a Pearson correlation value of 0.584, meaning that there is a rather low relationship between work engagement and job satisfaction; the results of simple linear regression analysis show a constant value of 8.427, meaning that if work engagement is zero, then job satisfaction is 8.427, and the value of b = 0.177 means that if work engagement increases by one point then job satisfaction will increase by 0.177; The results of the coefficient of determination show an R2 value of 0.341. This means that work engagement contributes 34.1% to job satisfaction; The results of the t test show that the t value is greater than t table (4.989 > 1.677) or the sig value is (0.000 < 0.05), meaning that the work engagement variable has a positive and significant influence on job satisfaction so that the alternative hypothesis states that there is a positive and significant influence between work engagement on job satisfaction among employees at the Purworejo Regency Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM) was accepted.
